The video opens with a top-down tracking shot of the protagonist lying in the grass, enjoying a moment, and surrounded his favourite things.... a box of biscuits, new sneakers, a rubiks cube & accessories.

As the camera cranes we see the hero protagonist reflecting upon the last 48hours of eventualities....
The video progresses to rewind back to the start of the day, as the protagonist awakes and finds a new directions in his life....
The video portrays a motivated artist aspiring to learn, grow, achieve and Rival the industry....

To make the music video I designed a treatment using a local Snorricam, tested and troubleshooted until i made sure it gave the desired pov result.
The overhead shots were birthed from personal experimentations and i felt it brought a new dynamic filmmaking style to this music video.

The original concept for 'Retro Low' took a far darker narrative turn : opening on a jarring, high-stakes shot of the protagonist lying after an attack..... before rewinding to the start of the day to see how the eventuals unfolded.
The idea was to have the ending shown at the start, and then the rest of the music video be the day-long buildup to the artist eventually being betrayed by an armed friend ; finally laying in a the middle of a verge.

I tried my hardest to get Rival to agree to this volatile concept, but at the last minute he decided against it.
He quite rightly pointed out the number of artists who have passed in similar ways to their previous portrayals in music videos, so overall decided against doing it in the end.

We revised the concept, and instead brought a number of covering props to the shoot ; instead framing the reflective protagonaist chilling on the grass on a new positive wave of life.
The video depicts an artist's daily life behind-the-mic.
